The centennial jubilee of the Republic of Estonia was marked by a sophisticated geometric emblem, ingeniously blending symbolism. This emblem, crafted by the talented designers at Identity, a revered conceptual design agency in Estonia, ingeniously encapsulates the essence of the century from 1918 to 2018. The visual interplay seamlessly merges the representations of both 100 and 18, offering a clever nod to the nation’s historic milestone. Identity, by the way, is the agency where I had the opportunity to practice and develop my foundational principles of design for a number of years after the university – the beginning of my creative journey. Anyway – the celebrations lasted for three years and the task to tailor all the animations for EV100 – animated online banners, digital screens all over the country, motion graphics on TV etc – were offered to me. No pressure, right? That explains the grey hair on my head by the way. But much obliged!
